A Professional Resume Tailored To Your Ideal Job

Tailoring your resume to fit your ideal job gives you the best chance at getting an interview. Employers need to see, within a matter of seconds of skimming through your resume, experience and/or education that is directly related to the position to be filled. It should pop out at them and be easy to find. If it does not and they are sitting with a stack of resumes, in some cases 100’s of resumes, they are not going to invest more than a minute trying to find this information on your resume. Also, if they spot a spelling or grammatical error, this is a red flag to them that you did not take the time to proofread your resume or to run a spell check. When this happens, they are thinking that you are also not going to do a quality job either, if hired.

Just a little extra effort will put you at a much greater advantage over the other potential job candidates, who did not take the extra time to ensure that their resumes were the best that they could be, completely error free. With the high unemployment rate, currently at 7.3%, competition is high, so you have to put 100% into every aspect of the job search, especially when it comes to your resume, which will help get your foot in the door for the interview. The rest is up to you on how well you present yourself at the actual interview, such as how prepared you are, with a copy of your resume in hand, ready with answers to interview questions that haven’t even been asked yet, can result in you winning the interview and ultimately the job.
